Nigerian Islamist group Boko Haram has for the first time admitted that it had seized as many as 300 Nigerian schoolgirls last month as they made their way to sit exams in a local school.
In a video one of the group's leaders vowed to sell them on the open market.
Meanwhile, in an extraordinary turn of events, a woman who has helped organize protests on behalf of the girls' families was arrested in Nigeria after a meeting with the country's First Lady Patience Jonathan.
The First Lady was reportedly impatient over the fact that the activist had been sent to meet her...not the mothers of the girls she'd invited.
In Washington, the Obama administration is determining what level of assistance to offer to the Nigerian government, as the White House comes under growing pressure to provide at least as much attention to the plight of the girls as it did to the search for the missing Malaysian Airlines jet.
