INTW: Hundreds dead, Scores missing in Turkish mine disaster, backlash protests against PM

Jay Carney delivered an offer of help from the White House Wednesday following Turkey's deadly mine disaster, that has so far claimed the lives of more than 240 workers.

Hundreds of miners remain trapped more than a mile underground after Tuesday's explosion and fire at a coal mine in the western town of Soma.

The incident has triggered a backlash of blame and anger, directed at the Turkish government.
