VO 1 Uganda’s army spokesman Paddy Ankunda has confirmed his force killed 6 and wounded 2 Al shabaab fighters.
The two injured terrorists will be handed over to the Somali government.
One machine gun, a rocket propelled grenade and three bombs have also been recovered.

“This 6 were killed in a UPDF ambush in a place called Qoryooley, South of Mogadishu and we captured two and their rifles and we are still with them”
VO 2 It comes 4 days after 3 Ugandan soldiers were killed in Mogadishu on Saturday.
VO 3 They were part of the quick response team that were deployed following an attack on the Somali Parliament by Al Shabaab terrorists.
Four Somali National Army soldiers and a police officer were also killed.

“We expected that such kinds of attacks would continue, particularly in the town of Mogadishu, fortunately all the 13 Al shabaab fighters who had attacked were killed, although we lost 3 of our peace keepers i think it was a good fight.”
VO 4 Uganda has over 6000 soldiers fighting the Al shabaab in Somalia under the African Union Mission in Somalia.
VO 5 Over a hundred Ugandan soldiers have so far been killled in battles with the Al Shabaab militias since Uganda deployed in Somalia in 2007.
Arrangements to hand over bodies of the fallen soldiers to family are now being made.
