Uganda says Allied Democratic Force rebels have been dislodged from their camps in the eastern democratic republic of Congo but warn the rebel group is still a threat.

VO 1 Uganda says ADF camps in the Eastern Demcratic Republic of Congo have been overrun.
VO 2 Uganda’s army chief KATUMBA WAMALA reports the ADF was shelled by the DRC military - and rebel ammunition was seized.

“The ADF lost quiet a number of combatants, we were able to see the images of those combatants, recently the Congo Army unearthed a catchment of their weapons, a big number of wepons about 126 RPGs, 53 AK47 and about 63 mortars.”
VO 3 The ADF started fighting against the Ugandan government in 1966 but was pushed out of the country in 2002.
Uganda’s Army chief Katumba Wamala says it is still a threat.

“The maybe down but they are not yet out, we need really to get to the leadership of the ADF, thats when we shall be satisfied that the ADF has totally been wiped out, so there is still need to pursue them wherever they have gone.”
VO 4 Last year over 60 thousand Congolese refugees fled their country into Uganda after ADF rebels attacked their homesteads.
VO 5 It was the biggest refugee influx Uganda had ever received.
Some have returned home but many remain in camps in western Uganda.
