The Royal Thai Military has declared martial law following a series of violent protests. The army has promised the situation is temporary, and both the Constitution and the government are still nominally in power. But with the US embassy in Bangkok on alert, and troubling reports of a media crackdown surfacing, our Washington correspondent Alice Ollstein reports that American officials are following the situation closely.
