INTW: Vermont first state to pass law labeling Genetically Modified foods

This week, the state of Vermont became the first in the US to require the labeling genetically modified organisms, known as GMOs for short.

California, Washington and other states have tried and failed to pass similar laws, and this one is expected to be challenged in court by food corporations.

In Washington, our correspondent Alice Ollstein spoke with Dave Murphy, the executive director of the group Food Democracy Now, about what this development means for food producers and consumers in the United States.
