US Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton has celebrated becoming her party's nominee, calling it an "historic moment".
At an event in New York the former Secretary of State acknowledged this was the first time a women had become the nominee of a major US political party.
She'll be officially recognised at the party's convention in July, before going on to face Republican Donald Trump in the November general election.

Hillary Clinton has now surpassed the number needed to become the nominee.
But that's not made official until the party insiders, known as super delegates, vote at the Democratic Convention in July.
That means Clinton's rival Bernie Sanders has no intention of conceding.
As he hopes to win over some of those super delegates who say they're supporting Clinton.
