The latest opinion polls in the United States suggest that Donald Trump has eradicated the lead that Hillary Clinton has enjoyed in the country's opinion polls over the last month.
A new survey of likely voters in this November's election conducted by CNN shows Mr Trump taking a two point lead over Mrs Clinton.
But she's still three points ahead of him when the poll was widened to include ALL eligible voters.
Meanwhile, nearly 90 retired US military officials have announced they're backing Mr. Trump's Presidential bid, saying the country needs a wholesale change in its national security policy.

You can call it coincidence….or you can call it a deliberate change in strategy.

For months, the Democratic nominee has kept journalists beyond arms length…not even allowing them on her campaign plane, for fear that she'd be peppered with awkward questions.
But now she's relented….and on Tuesday, for the second consecutive day, wandered back to talk to the reporters who cover her, and tell them what a threat Donald Trump poses to America.

Driving the conversation, the Trump campaign's publication of a letter signed by 88 retired military officials, some of them top generals.
They say the country needs what they call a "long-overdue course correction" in national security policies….and they've concluded Donald Trump is the man for the job.
Mrs. Clinton says the top national security officials backing her are more qualified and less extreme than the ones lining up behind her opponent.

In that conversation with reporters, Mrs Clinton brushed off the latest opinion polls, saying that she doesn't pay attention to voter surveys, even when they're favorable to her.
There's no doubt the latest data makes disturbing reading for Clinton loyalists.
A new CNN survey shows that her unpopularity with the electorate continues to grow faster than his.
Donald Trump has made up all the ground he lost in the aftermath of the Conventions…and that he's trouncing Mrs. Clinton among the all-important independents…people like these voters in Ohio who sometimes vote Democratic and other times Republican.

On the campaign trail, Trump supporters continue to be introduced to a less angry, more controlled candidate.
On Tuesday, he participated in a round-table with military veterans in Virginia and said he'll help them, but Hillary Clinton won't.

With 61 days to go until Election Day…analysts want to see more polling data to determine whether the character of the race has shifted again and the Trump comeback is real.
But the latest numbers suggest a very fluid race….and that alone is giving the Trump team a renewed chance to dream.
