The day after Monday’s debate gave candidates a chance to speak directly to some of the 80 million people, estimated to have tuned in to the 90-minute debate where the top issues were taxes, counter-terriorism, racial politics, the economy, and crime and criminal justice.

Responding to Trump's criticism of international trade deals like the North American Free Trade Agreement and the Trans-Pacific Partnership, Secretary Clinton said she was alarmed at his casual language

By consensus, US media, seemed to think Ms. Clinton came out ahead on Monday night, although Donald Trump's performance reportedly generated the most conversation on Facebook and Twitter — both negative and positive.

But they're both still closely tied in national polls. With the next debate, a town hall format, coming up on October 9th, both camps will be sure to spend the next week and a half working towards a clear lead.
