VO
It was all out war, in a debate that seemed more about insults than issues.
There was trash talk, accusations, and lots of claims of lying.

SOT - Trump - This little guy…."

Shouting over each other, the candidates squabbled about the economy, immigration, and terrorism.
Trump said Senator Marco Rubio couldn't even get elected as a dog catcher.
While Trump himself was questioned about the collapse of Trump University and the lawsuit he's now facing for fraud.
And was forced to defend his tendency to flip-flop on policies.

SOT - Trump - Flexibility

Perhaps the only polite moment in the debate came when all four candidates agreed to support whichever one is the eventual winner.
Even Donald Trump eventually grudgingly agreed.

SOT - don't deserve it

The debate came after an extraordinary day in American politics. The 2012 nominee Mitt Romney earlier became the latest high ranking Republican to attack Trump, urging the America public not to vote for him.

SOT - Romney - "a phony, a fraud."

The clearest indication yet, that there are a lot of people party grandees who don't want Trump as their candidate.

Trump had an answer ready for Romney.

SOT - failed candidate

Now, as the clock runs down, the panicked Republican party are waking up to the prospect Donald Trump could represent them in the November election.
