US Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has lost the Wisconsin primary to his opponent, Senator Ted Cruz - meaning it could be more difficult for the New York businessman to win the nomination to run for President outright.
On the Democratic side of the race, Bernie Sanders beat Hillary Clinton, but is still behind her in the overall race.

Texas Senator Ted Cruz began campaigning early and aggressively in Wisconsin, and scored a convincing win. During his victory speech in Milwaukee, he said he can go on to win a majority of Republican delegates:
SOT Ted Cruz: Tonight is a turning point. It is a rallying cry. As a result of the people of Wisconsin defying the media, defying the pundits, I am more and more convinced that our campaign is going to win the 1237 delegates needed to win the Republican nomination.
His win does help cement his position as the best hope of the Republican party's anti-Trump forces, who are trying to prevent the New York businessman from gaining the Republican nomination outright. Mr. Trump now has the tough task of winning between two thirds and 70% of the remaining delegates if he is to clinch that prize.
Meanwhile, Bernie Sanders has beaten Hillary Clinton in Wisconsin's Democratic primary, meaning he's now claimed victory in 7 of the last 8 contests.

Hillary Clinton's campaign had always downplayed her chances of winning in Wisconsin, preferring to concentrate on fundraising in New York City. But he's got a tough road ahead. He's still well behind the former Secretary of State in the delegate count, and is hoping his win on Tuesday night will give him enough momentum heading into the New York primary on the 19th April.
