US presidential candidates continue on the road to the White House
with the next and last, Republican Party caucus set to kick off in
Nevada on Tuesday. Businessman Donald Trump ran away with the South
Carolina primary, and according to a recent CNN poll of Republicans in
Nevada, he's the candidate to beat there too.

Nevada will soon become the next state to choose from among remaining
Republican presidential candidates Senator Marco Rubio, Senator Ted
Cruz, John Kasich, Dr. Ben Carson, and clear frontrunner, Donald Trump
who is going in to Tuesday's caucus with a double-digit lead…

The businessman told Fox News that — unlike the other candidates — he
has personally funded his campaign

"When we go to the debates the room is stacked with donors and special
interest, I'm self funding my campaign, I'm putting up my money, I'm
putting up millions and millions and millions of dollars like throwing
it out the window"


TAKE VO:
Each state gets a chance to vote for their preferred candidate , and
those votes get tallied up to choose each party's presidential nominee


The pool has dwindled with former Governor Jeb Bush recently dropping
out of the race after a disappointing turnout in the recent South
Carolina primary. South Carolina was thought to be "Bush Country" … as
it's where both his father and older brother picked up support during
their past campaigns, but Third bush proved not to be a charm.

"I'm proud of the campaign that we've run to unify our country and to
advocate conservative solutions that would give more Americans
opportunities to rise up and reach their God given potential but the
people of Iowa, and New Hampshire, and South Carolina have spoken and
I really respect their decision so tonight I am suspending my
campaign"

Now, the big money donors who were behind Bush must decide who to back
next… Senator Marco Rubio and Senator Ted Cruz, who basically tied
for second in South Carolina are scrambling to win them, and the GOP
over.

Senator Rubio told NBC's Meet the Press, that as it comes down to the
wire, voters are going see his campaign as the logical, unifying
alternative to Donald Trump

"70% of republicans have said we want somebody other than Donald
Trump… Now that the choices have become less and less, more and more
that new vote, that alternative to Donald Trump vote is going to
coalesce around us"

TAKE VO:
But Senator Cruz told CBS Face of the Nation, and supporters at a
South Carolina rally, that he's the man to trump the Donald

SOT - Cruz:
A week ago Donald Trump had a 20 point dominating lead and we ended
up closing that gap tremendously and finishing effectively tied for
second place.

TAKE VO:
In the hopes of avoiding a repeat of 2012 -- when final results from
Nevada weren't officially reported until days later -- Tuesday night's
results will be reported using pictures snapped off caucus officials
smartphones. Then for the Republicans, it's off to the last televised
debate ahead of Super Tuesday on March 1st - when the most primary
elections are held on a single day.
