Iran's Supreme Leader, the Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, is blaming the country's "enemies" for growing street protests and clashes with police that have claimed more than 20 lives.
The protests - the largest in Iran since 2009 - are calling for an end to the country's hardline clerical rule.
President Trump in the US has pledged support for the protestors, saying Iranians have "little food, big inflation and no human rights".
The State Department is also urging Iran to stop blocking Instagram and other social media platforms.
Saeed Kamali Dehghan covers events in Iran for The Guardian newspaper of London and says it's too soon to know just how much the protestors can achieve.
