Sunday's attack in Somalia, that the terror group Al Shabaab has claimed responsibility for, has killed 12 people- according to the Uganda military.
Initially, Al Shabaab claimed it had killed 39 people, when it attacked a Ugandan military base, south west of the capital Mogadishu.
Uganda insists the attack has not thwarted its attempts to fight terrorism.

VO 1 Uganda's army says it fought back hard, inflicting much more serious injuries on it's enemies.
VO 2 But while Al shabaab claims to have killed 39 Ugandan soldiers, the army now confirms just 12 are dead.
VO 3 The troops were on regular patrol at their base in Gorowen, south west of the capital Mogadishu when the Alshabaab insurgents attacked.
VO 4 The attack came hours after a car bomb in Somalia's capital killed five people, most of them civilians.
VO 5 Uganda's army spokesperson Richard Karemire says the struggle to restore peace in Somalia will go on.

"We will continue the fight, we will continue strategizing alongside our partners in the African Union mission in Somalia. We'll also continue to ask our partners to ensure we have all the requisite equipment so that our troops are well supported."
VO 6 The 7 injured Ugandan soldiers have been evacuated to a hospital in Mogadishu.
VO 7 The army is also contacting next of kins of the dead soldiers before releasing the identities.
VO 8 Uganda has lost several of it's soldiers in Somalia since it deployed in 2007.
VO 9 Richard Karemire, Uganda's army spokesperson says their the aim is build an able Somalie army before their eventual return.

"We need to thoroughly beat the Al shabaab and also support our brothers and sisters to build capacity so that when we leave tomorrow, we'll have left there forces that will continue to build the required peace and stability that will build the country. So training and building capacity for the somalie army remains our exit strategy."
VO 10 Investigations are underway to find circumstances that led to the fatal attack.
