Three top figures with President Trump's election campaign, including his own son Donald Trump Junior, have been asked to testify on Capitol Hill next week about their links with the Russians.
The President's son-in-law, Jared Kushner, is expected to be the first to appear next Monday.
Our US Correspondent Simon Marks in Washington says the stage is set for yet more drama there.

Let's be absolutely clear….we are in for another explosive week if all these Trump relatives and associates show up and testify on Capitol Hill.
And if they don't, they're at risk of being subpoenaed….legally dragged before the committees and forced to testify, even if they choose to plead the 5th amendment against self-incrimination.
The cast for next week seems to be star studded.
Jared Kushner…the President's son-in-law, married to Ivanka Trump….is said to be eager to testify.
But he'll have to be careful, because members of the Senate will ask him to explain in detail why he seems to have lied not once, but multiple times, about contacts he had with officials from Russia and other foreign governments.
The President's son, Donald Trump Junior, faces a raft of questions about his eagerness to meet with a lawyer he believed represented the Russian government and was part of Moscow's attempts to get his father elected……that's legally perilous for him, and the Committee has already ordered him to preserve any documents or other evidence relating to his conversations with the Russians.
And then there's Paul Manafort, the President's former campaign manager.
With him, the questions are all about the money: the New York Times now reporting that he was $17 million in debt to pro-Russian interests when he joined the Trump campaign.
Special Prosecutor Robert Mueller is believed to be pouring over his bank records.
The President remains furious about the ongoing investigations now ensnaring members of his family.
In an interview, he said Mr Mueller would be crossing a red line if he investigated the Trump family's finances beyond any relationship with Russia.
And he expressed fury about his own Attorney General Jeff Sessions….saying he never would have appointed him if he'd known he was going to recuse himself from overseeing the investigations into Russia…..something of course Mr. Sessions had to do because like so many other Trump associates, he also lied about his own conversations with the Russians.
And so it goes….6 months in to the Trump Presidency…..the President himself becoming increasingly angry over his eroding authority and the investigations now reaching directly into the highest levels of his family.
