The two men running to be the next vice president of the United States debated a wide range of topics.
Tim Kaine and Mike Pence both have extensive experience in goverment and know the issues, but the debate ended up turning personal at times.

The final question of the vice presidential debate may have been the most important question of the event
how can the United States be unified after this divisive campaign?

Both men have lots of experience in the US Congress and as state governors
The debate was not about their qualifications
but it did speed through a laundry list of topics
including the economy, iran, social security, race and law enforcement.
And both sides attacked
with Donald Trump's taxes and Hillary Clinton's use of a private email server coming up repeatedly.

And even the moderator, Elaine Quijano of CBS News, got frustrated with the two men's ability to go off topic,
answering a specific question about North Korea and the proliferation of nuclear weapons with answers about allegations about the Clinton Foundation and the Donald J. Trump Foundation.

It's unlikely any voters minds were changed by the debate between the two men to be the Vice President of the united States,
except to be reassured that they are qualified and well-briefed on the issues.
For Tim Kaine,
he may have interrupted a bit too much,
while
Mike Pence's solid performance reminded political watchers,
if any other Republican were running against Hillary Clinton,
she'd probably lose the race for the White House.
But the reality is,
the focus is back on Hillary Clinton versus Donald Trump.
