Preliminary results show Ashraf Ghani leading his rival Abdullah Abdullah who says the vote has been rife with fraud. The Afghan election commission is delaying announcing a winner while those accusation s are investigated. Mr Kerry, warned that any attempt to take power illegally following the vote would cost Afghanistan US support.
