Another day, another mass shooting in Amerrica….and another one for the record books.
This was the deadliest incident of gun violence in the history of Texas…a state that is no stranger to guns and the people who use them.
On this occasion it was 26 year old Devin Kelley who, dressed in black, walked into the tiny Baptst Church in the town of Sutherland Springs and unleashed chaos.

The attack was described as indiscriminate.
On any given sunday, around 50 worshippers gathered in the church.
With at least 26 dead and 30 more injured….the gunman seems to have either killed or wounded virtually everyone in the building.
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton.

Among the dead, the 14 year old daughter of the church's priest.
The Governor of Texas, Greg Abbott.

While ministering to the grief-stricken, Governor Abbott did not mention his steadfast oppositeion to gun control laws…nor the fact that as recently as May he signed legislation cutting the cost of gun licenses in Texas…and, at a gun range after the signing ceremony joked about shooting reporters.
The gunman, an air force veteran, had recently boasted on FAceboko that he owned an AR-15 assault rifle….just one of the deadly weapons that gun control advocates want banned…and yet are still readily available in states across the nation.
