Hopes in Russia grow over sanctions easing but food industry remains resilient

After speaking on the phone with his Russian counterpart this weekend,
President Trump's team says a "significant start" has been made in
improving relations between the two former Cold War foes.

Relations soured under the Obama administration and in 2014 Moscow
introduced a food import ban on the US, Canada, Australia and much of
Europe in retaliation to sanctions put on them following the
annexation of Crimea.

Many in Russia's food industry have adapted to the food embargo but
hope is now growing that the days of sanctions may be numbered.
