The Duchess of Cambridge is due to give birth to her second child any day now. The former Kate Middleton and husband William are awaiting a brother or sister for Prince George, who will turn 2 this summer.
Unlike the excitement around the birth of her first child, this pregnancy has received a much more muted response. The new baby will become fourth in line to the British throne as Catherine Drew reports from London.

Just a handful of diehard royalists are awaiting the arrival of Kate and William who are due to have their second child at St Marys hospital in west london
The barriers are already up in anticipation of the world's media, but they are empty. but this birth has generated much less excitement.

For the birth of Prince George, the media and supporters were camped outside the hospital for days and weeks ahead of the birth and were finally rewarded when kate and william showed prince george a bank of cameras and supporters
Nevertheless royal fan Terry Hutt who has seen more royal births than he can remember, isn't going to miss the event. He and a few other die hard royalists have been camped outside the hospital for days...

"I'm hopeful that people will come forward, see on the TV, in the paper. If they think I'm here, they can come.
"Because do you think there's less excitement this time as it is a second child?"
"Again, looking at George he's going to be a future king. Again, the other lad….if it's a boy, he could be king couldn't he."

"The odd thing is everyone seems to think it's a girl, it's now 8 to 11 we get a girl baby, so that's quite a strong favourite which is unusual because actually stastistically, slightly more likely to be a boy and the other way around, we've got 6 to 5 we've got for it being a brother for Prince George."

Bookmakers are also giving odds for the name the couple may choose. With Alice being the favourite girls name and James the top choice for the boys.
The Editor of Debrett's Peerage and Baronetage, a who's who of British aristocracy, has researched names used by the royals down the centuries. While Mary, Elizabeth and Victoria have been popular, Charles Kidd supports the name of Alice, if the baby is a girl.

So having another Princess Alice in Kensington place might be rather nice. "
