The opening statements have been heard in the Boston Marathon bombing trial Wednesday.
The prosecution says Dzhokar Tsarnaev carried a bomb in a backpack and purposefully left it near a group of children watching runners at the finish line of the Boston event in 2013.
21-year-old Tsarnaev could face the death penalty if convicted of the attacks that left three dead and more than 260 injured.
