VO 1: Officials deliver Durban's bid for the Commonwealth Games in true South African style.
The city is the only candidate after Edmonton in Canada pulled out earlier this month - saying it would cost too much - but officials in Durban say it will boost the city's economy.
Tubby Reddy is the Chief Executive of Durban's bid:
CUT 1: Tubby Reddy is the Chief Executive of Durban: "We're expecting around 200 000 tourists and a spend of about 12 billion rand going in to the city."
VO 2: Most of the infrastracture is already in place, with sporting facilities and a stadium built.
The bid team were also keen to boast that 80 per cent of facilities are within 2.5 kilometers of each other.
South Africa's Minister for Sports and Recreation Fikile Mbalula says the 2010 World Cup proved South Africa can stage events on a global scale.
CUT 2: Sports Minister Fikile Mbalula: "Internationally, the perception of us, particularly from those who wanted to project us as a no go area, in terms of crime and so on, has been dispelled. This is a wonderful place, it a wonderful country, and the world was able to see that for itself."
VO 3: The 2010 World Cup showed the world South Africa could throw a spectacular party - this Commonwealth Games could even pave the road ahead for an Olympics bid for 2024.
A decision is due in September.
