Historians battle to keep memory of New York's Little Syria alive

The issue of Syrian immigration is dividing the United States with
many calling on President Obama to rethink his proposal of letting
10,000 refugees into the country over the next year.

While the fate of many Syrian refugees remains unclear, historians in
New York are working to educate people about Little Syria. A district
in lower Manhattan that was once home to thousands of people from
across the Middle East.

It's a history that they say shows the longstanding relationship
between America and the Arab world.
