Kampala police say they foiled a terror attack...... a claim backed by the US embassy.
But so far there've been scant details for the Ugandan public.
Polly Namaye, the Deputy Police Spokesperson says that could jeopardise their efforts.
SOT: Polly Namaye, Uganda Police Force -
"We believe that these people don't work alone, they have links both inside and outside the country, so we ask the public to be patient with us…. at the right time we shall release the information".
Namaye says Police are also continuing spot-checks in the capital.
SOT: Polly Namaye, Uganda Police Force -
"We are not at the moment certain about the intentions of these suspected terrorists, and where they could have come from, so it is the vigilance and visibility of the police and the public that will help us to curb down on what on what they could have intended to do"
The country's on alert after terrorism experts warned Somali group Al-Shabaab could strike........ in retaliation for the killing of its leader earlier this month.
Uganda is one of the countries that contributes troops to the African Union force fighting al-Shabaab in Somalia.
Al-Shabaab has attacked Kampala before...... killing 74 people in two bombings in July 2010.
Police are not saying for how long they will interrogate the 19, nor when they may appear in court.
Currently they're being held on suspicion of terrorism, though further charges could follow.
