Uganda says it is considering hosting deposed Sudanese President, Gen. Omar al Bashir and his family should he ask for asylum.
President Bashir is believed to be under house arrest in Khartoum after his removal from by the country's military.

Uganda's State Minister for Foreign Affairs Okello Oryem told Parliament that President Bashir deserves credit for his role as a co-guarantor of the South Sudan peace agreement… and Oryem says Uganda will consider asylum for Bashir in appreciation for that.
The Minister for Foreign Affairs said Uganda also recognizes President Bashir's contribution to end the LRA war in Northern Uganda.
The former Sudanese leader has been a close ally of Uganda's President, Yoweri Museveni.
President Bashir was forced out of office after 30 years in power following months of protests and a civil uprising.
Demonstrators accused President Bashir of failing to stop corruption in the government and ruling the Sudanese people with an iron fist.
