Police in the United States are investigating the killing of a TV reporter and a cameraman, who were shot dead during a live on-air broadcast.
The gunman, Vester Flanagan, wrote a 23-page manifesto, listing grievance including bully and racism in the workplace.
There are now calls for tighter gun laws to prevent similar tragedies.

The gunman, Vester Lee Flanagan, an ex-colleague, filmed the murders and posted them to social media.

With Flanagan dead from a self-inflicted gunshot, following a high-speed car chase with police, an investigation is now underway into what motived him to commit murder.

In a 23-page suicide note, faxed to a TV station, Flanagan said the killing of 9 African Americas at a church in Charleston was the "tipping point". Police will use this note, along with his history of workplace grievances, to build a profile of this killer.

And try and learn lessons to prevent similar killings.
But, just hours after the on-air deaths and it was business as usual in Virginia's gun shops. One owner said he didn't think eliminating guns was the only way to make society safer.
JOSHUA KARRASCH, Owner, The Gun Dude - "Education, training , maybe we could even start talking about universal background checks as good starting points. But the bottom line fact is firearms are here and we can't ban them so we have to have to find a more creative solution than 'just get rid of them, the problem's gone'."

But despite the fact that almost 8 and a half thousand people have been shot dead since the start of this year in America, some in high-profile mass-shootings, gun laws remain unchanged.

Campaigner Lori Haas hopes this latest incident may shock the country into re-examining its gun laws.
LORI HAAS, Coalition to Stop Gun Violence - "I think seeing this live on TV, knowing that the shooter filmed it from his perspective is just galling and upsetting to so many people, I'm expecting we'll see an increase in support for better regulations."

President Obama condemned the killings. As did 2016 Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton who said if she was elected she would "take on" gun violence".

"Recent research says there are 300 million guns in the US, almost one for every single person. Incidents like this shooting in Virginia will prompt calls for tighter gun controls. But the likelihood is nothing will change.
