The Obama administration is announcing, it will increase screening for travellers arriving from countries most affected by the expanding Ebola epidemic.
The announcement came just hours after the first person discovered on American soil with Ebola died in a Texas hospital.
Our correspondent Priscilla Huff travelled to Alabama to see some of the efforts the U.S. is taking to train medical professionals to combat Ebola.

His death was announced by Michael Rawlings, the Mayor of Dallas Texas.

Duncan died after being infected while helping infected neighbors back home in Liberia.

Now, his countrymen are in the United States, participating in a training course sponsored by the U-S Centers for Disease Control.
Dr. Raseda Marshall is anxious to return home where she is the head of pediatrics for the University of Liberia.

"I will be teaching them mainly infection control preventive measures, and especially we will be doing quite a lot of how to set up Ebola treatment units."

Protecting medical professionals and local hires from getting infected is a top priority for health officials trying to stop the rapid spread of Ebola.

Here at a U-S government training center in Northern Alabama, the participants are learning all the steps in approaching and treating Ebola....and that includes removing bodies.
The programme is being run by Dr. Michael Jhung of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control

"We think that this is the first step in a process to take care of patients with Ebola safely. We've strongly recommended to graduates of this training course that when they go to West Africa, and they work under the supervision of someone who has taken care of Ebola patients already. And we want them to do that for a while to gain more knowledge, more experience, before they take care of patients by themselves."

The Obama administration is taking further steps to head off additional cases, such as Mr. Duncan who travelled from Liberia to Texas.
There will be increased screening for travellers from West Africa, arriving at five American airports, - New York, Newark New Jersey, Washington, Atlanta and Chicago.

The U-S Centers for Disease Control intends to keep their Ebola training course going for as long as its needed...just as the U.S. military is increasing the number of American military personnel deployed to help support treatment efforts.
And the Obama adminstration says it is considering additional steps as it works with the international community to try to stop the Ebola virus in its tracks.
