Tariffs threaten growth of U.S. solar industry

At the start of the year the United States imposed 30% tariffs on
imported solar panels.

A few major players in the US industry lobbied for the taxes to
protect themselves from foreign competition. They're part of President
Donald Trump's 'America First' policy. His administration has placed
tariffs on a number of foreign products in a bid to promote US-made
goods. It's a policy some economists and many other countries are
warning could escalate into a global trade war.

William Denselow went to Cupertino, California, to see what effect
these tariffs are having on solar companies.
