UK Prime Minister David Cameron says Syrian President Bashar al Assad must go if the civil war in his country and the refugee crisis are to be solved.
Mr Cameron used a speech to the Conservative Party Conference in Manchester to insist an open door policy for refugees in Europe is not the answer to the issue.
He also promised to secure reform of Britain's membership of the EU, and launched a scathing attack on his opposite number.
