I'm Olly Barratt in London where Britain's Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg has called for a full separation of Church and State.
His controversial comments divide the coalition government, made up of his Liberal Democrats, and led by the Prime Minister's Conservative Party.
And they have been rejected by Prime Minister David Cameron whose own comments on faith started the debate.
Mr Cameron used Easter to assert his own Christian beliefs and say the UK remains a Christian country.
This despite falling church attendance and falling rates of christianity in what is increasingly a multi-faith country - and a country with rising numbers of people who say they have no faith.
Nick Clegg was asked about the row by a listener on LBC radio.
